Victoria Wood Recognized at Hendrix College Honors Day

Victoria Ashley Wood of Houston, a junior theatre arts and dance major at Hendrix College, received the Ella Myrl Shanks Scholarship at the College's annual Honors Day Convocation on April 26.

The award was established in 1992 in honor of Ella Myrl Shanks, Emerita Professor and longtime Chair of the Theatre Arts Department, to recognize outstanding achievement by a rising senior in the department.

Founded in 1876, Hendrix College is a national leader in engaged liberal arts and sciences education. Hendrix was named the country's #1 "Up and Coming" liberal arts college for the third consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report.
